I have come to realise that being in limbo from time to time is necessary. I learn far more about myself during these periods than I ever would during times of clarity. A very thought-provoking poem! 🤹🏼‍♀️

Hi Nina, that’s a very interesting point. I like how you brought up the positive aspect of it. Maybe being in limbo can eventually help one go in a new direction that one would have otherwise not thought of. Thanks for sharing. Your point made me further think about this subject!

Hi Nick, thank you for sharing that! I’m glad that you could relate to it. :)

Limbo sounds a bit similar to depression. A very real thing.

Thanks for sharing that. Yeah, I suppose something too extreme like this or for a sustained period of time would feel like depression.

Hello Niraj, I have very much appreciated the profundity of your poem as I read it. And I am glad to have found you.

Hi Kelly! I’m so happy that you liked the poem. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. It helps me to learn and improve as a writer. I am working on my next post, it will be out soon!

I can see why someone would think of depression or perhaps even emotional exhaustion with this piece, but to me personally this sounds a lot like dissociation. Been there and done that through trauma, most of the time I daydream and see movies and scenes while deep in thought. Every once in awhile though it's just like this poem, nothing, you feel nothing, you hear nothing, smell, taste, touch, all of it is nothing.

Love this poem ♥️

Thank you so much, TrottingTerror! I am so happy to know that you found the poem relatable. I loved reading your point of view on this. I too do a lot of day dreaming.

When you write your poems do you have movies play in your head? I know you do poems I personally do poem-proses, but do you often see a scene or movie play in your head as your writing or typing what is happening? I vaguely remember when I was writing this piece I saw a forest and ghosts were talking to this person as music was playing in the background.

That's a great question! You actually made me think about how I write poems. Usually, there is one image in my mind and a lot of feelings attached to it. So I focus on the feelings and music of the words. In rare cases, it is a moving shot like for my poem 'Someone Shall Come Along', where I imagined a young girl dancing in her bedroom on a Saturday morning. But usually, it's a single image with a strong feeling with it. And I write a poem that captures those feelings.

Funny thing is, I actually write and direct movies too. In that case, I do think in shots and entire stories. If you are curious, here's the link to my movie Cosmic Light:

I have watched your short movie, but I also watched every single video on your YouTube channel (which was probably bad timing as my living situation is over 80 degrees and I'm tired, but worth it!) I'll start with my thoughts on the movie first and then how your situation reminded me of myself. While trying to remember everything that I crammed into my head 😅

Ngl the short film and its message was definitely not what I was expecting, I was fully expecting it to be the trope of “the earth is dying so we're going to send someone into outer space to save the earth, thee end.” Instead it has a very good message and does reflect in today's world and history regarding leadership and the question of consequences of one's choice. I loved the acting, I loved the message, and it made me forget that I was watching a short film. The characters felt real, the acting felt natural, and it didn't feel like a long short film at all. The only problem I have with it is… I want more 😭🤣. I wanted it to be longer 😅, but as someone with a limited budget my own self I completely get it.

What you said about people's suggestions and their recommendations resonated with me quite a bit. I decided to be a transgressive author because that's what I want to be, I don't want to sanitize or pull any punches when it comes to the body and mind. I don't want to write things that the average person writes, do poem-proses that are mainstream and mask the realities of people who struggle, censor words or uncomfortable TWs just to make them safe. I want to write pieces that will challenge readers and the way they see certain conditions, bring awareness to dark subjects and situations, make them uncomfortable by using visceral metaphors that paint a whole picture of what's going on behind closed doors. My poetry is my therapy, and writing transgressive poetry has helped me understand myself and others a lot better.

To me joining the crowd doesn't make your work unique if you didn't want to join in the first place, it only makes it look soulless, forced and everyone else.

Thank you so much for taking the time to watch the film and the videos and sharing your thoughts on it. I am so happy to know that the them of the film resonated with you. That theme is why I made the film! Yes, the budget was limited, so I had to make it into a short film.

I love that in your art you are pushing boundaries and not joining the crowd. That is what would make your work interesting to read. Sometimes it can be dark, sometimes it can be uplifting. I feel the most important thing is to share your specific point of view. It is what we all crave to read!

I completely agree! I like to also touch on controversial subjects whether I agree with them or not. feel like if you don't look from the other side of the coin you become blind to your own opinion or morals (a pair of fresh eyes if you know what I mean 😸)

Can't wait to see if you make more short films! 🚀
