As an artist, I am always seeking different thoughts and opinions to understand this world and life better.
What’s new
Recently, I visited a mountain town called Idyllwild. Situated east of Los Angeles in the San Jacinto Mountains, it’s a beautiful town with fresh air and no crowd. I loved the slow pace and calmness there.
However, I came across something I had never seen before:
An empty library.
In the recent years, there has been a rise of free libraries all over the USA and Canada. These libraries allow people to take a book or leave a book for free. It’s a way for people to share their books that would otherwise collect dust in their homes. And I have seen some very interesting books in these little free libraries.
However, this particular free library was empty. So I decided I would to buy a book and put it in the library.
But when I checked the map, there was no bookstore nearby.
So I visited the shops in the walking distance and I came upon a music store.
They had a few used books laying in a forgotten corner. Awesome! Something was better than nothing.
However, these were obscure books on architecture and history. And I wanted to get an entertaining book. A book that would attract general readership.
Luckily, I found a paperback copy of a book called ‘Magic: The Gathering Dark - Book 1’ by Jeff Grubb.
I read the first page and it was a fun read.
So I purchased it and left it in the free library.
Hopefully, someone will take it and leave another book in exchange. And we can continue the cycle of book sharing with each other.
No library in this world shall remain empty.
Today’s poem is a little different than what you have read from me so far.
It’s a bit bold.
In a budding relationship, flirtations are fun.

In this poem, I was imagining a woman dancing with a man in a club. She wants him, desires him.
They have known each other for a while now.
The romance between them has been building up.
And now they are visiting a club and the vibe is making it easier for her to flirt with him.
She is swaying with the music and losing her inhibitions.
But she is also in control.
She decides when the man can come closer and how things will go between them.
First, she wants him to come closer, but not touch her.
Only when she is ready and feels comfortable, that she gives him the permission to touch her.
She wants him, but she loves to play hard to get.
She knows her worth.

Thank you for sharing. The word of the day has been “signs.” As in the signs one gets from the universe. The funny thing about your piece for me is I’m headed to Idlewild for my birthday this weekend. I went during Xmas and had a great time. We’re looking forward to going back. So… my question for you… just a funny coincidence? Or a sign?
Is flirting important? Absolutely! It’s easy to lose the spark in long term love. People should become advanced in the art of flirting with their partners. Not only to play into the things you know they like, but to surprise them. All of life is an improve. If we get stuck performing the same scripts we will get bored. Flirting is a form of play and engagement. You need to tune into each other. I think your poem captures that give and take.
I thought this was very entertaining. I love the story at the beginning about the free mini libraries dotted around. So kind of you to offer a book to people. This is such a lovely idea. The poem was very interesting. Thank you for sharing it!
